A sentença, do dia 3 de julho, condena o ator a uma pena de 1 ano de reclusão e a 10 dias multa, no valor unitário mínimo legal. Ao arbitrar a pena, o juiz do caso levou em conta o fato do crime não ter agravantes, o que poderia elevar a pena, e ainda o fato do ator ter mais de 70 anos.
Com esses valores, a lei brasileira permite que o regime inicial para o cumprimento da pena seja o aberto. Dumont também poderá recorrer em liberdade.
O juiz do caso também condenou o ator a pagar as custas processuais da ação.

A denúncia, que resultou na prisão em flagrante, partiu de vizinhos. Segundo a investigação, câmeras de segurança do condomínio onde ele mora flagraram o ator cometendo abusos contra um adolescente de 12 anos, como beijos e carícias.
Ao cumprir o mandado de busca e apreensão na casa do ator, os policiais encontraram vídeos e fotos contendo pornografia infantil no celular pessoal e no computador. A Justiça também tinha autorizado a quebra de sigilo de dados.
