Com a deflagração pelas Forças de Segurança da Operação Semana Santa, policiais civis e militares vasculharam o Vale do Mamanguape dando cumprimento à mandatos de busca e prisões. No seu desdobramento várias pessoas foram presas, dentre elas a “mulher do tráfico” da região. Em entrevista à aristelsonsilva.com.br o Delegado gestor Sylvio Rabello disse que a Operação Semana Santa originou-se de uma minuciosa investigação relacionada ao tráfico e dos crimes patrimoniais. Mamanguape, Itapororoca, Baía da Traição e Jacaraú são os municípios da região que se destacaram com ao menos oito prisões.
