O vice-presidente do Senado Federal, Veneziano Vital do Rêgo – MDB-PB, foi indicado pelo seu partido na noite desta quarta-feira (24) para compor a Comissão Parlamentar Mista de Inquérito (CPMI) que vai investigar os atos antidemocráticos de 8 de Janeiro. A indicação foi confirmada pelo líder do MDB no Senado, Eduardo Braga do Amazonas.
Além de Veneziano, o senador Marcelo Castro – MDB-PI também foi indicado como membro titular da CPMI. Já os senadores Fernando Dueire – MDB-PE e Giordano – MDB-SP foram indicados como suplentes.
Na justificativa Eduardo Braga destacou que Veneziano estava no exercício da Presidência do Senado Federal quando das invasões aos prédios dos poderes, no fatídico 8 de janeiro deste ano. E lembrou que foi Veneziano quem, juntamente com os outros representantes dos poderes visitou os locais depredados e adotou as primeiras providências em relação às invasões.
Por este motivo, alegou o senador Eduardo Braga, Veneziano não poderia deixar de integrar a CPMI, pois poderá dar uma enorme contribuição aos trabalhos.
